Somewhere on the West Shore, someone has decided that pumpkin belongs in a whoopie pie, a waffle, a latte, and a slice of cheesecake. I see no reason to argue. October is short, and there are only so many afternoons between school pickup and dinner.
Our 2026 Central PA Pumpkin Trail map has an East Shore layer and a West Shore layer, so you can browse both sides of the Susquehanna without trying to eat your way across the entire region in one outing. Turn the layers on or off to plan your stops.
This is a collection of local pumpkin treats, not a prescribed driving route. Menus and stock change throughout the season, sometimes by the hour. Check with the business before making a special trip for one particular item, and remember that some restaurants offer desserts only with regular dining service.

A couple of notes before you go
A bakery counter can have a glorious pumpkin selection at 9 a.m. and a much less glorious one at 2 p.m. Order-ahead items, rotating desserts and fall drinks are especially worth checking first. Some locations have plenty for kids to choose from; others are restaurants where a dessert stop makes more sense after a meal.
We also checked farther west toward Shippensburg and around Boiling Springs, but did not find enough current, specific pumpkin-menu information to promise a stop. If a favorite local business has a pumpkin special we missed, send it our way so we can keep the trail growing.
